Tourist Spots in Kolkatta

Kolkatta is the capital of West Bengal. More than 8,000,000 people are living in this city. This is one of the biggest metropolitan cities in India. Early this was called as Calcutta and this name was changed to Kolkatta in 2001.

Some of the tourist spots in Kolkatta are:

* Kalighat Kali Temple:
Kalighat Kali Temple is located in Rasbihari Avenue in kolkatta. This is a temple for the Goddess Kali and it is 200 years old.
* Dakshineswar Temple:
Dakshineswar Temple is on the banks of the river Hooghly which is near the bridge Bally Bridge. More than 12 temples are there near Dakshineswar Temple
* Belur Math:
Belur Math is build by Ramakrishna Mission. This is six kilometers away from the city. This is 100 years old building.
* Rabindra Sarovar:
Rabindra Sarovar is spreaded over 75hectares and it is also known as Dhakuria Lake. Fishing is not allowed in this lake.
* Nicco Park (Jheel Meel):
More than thousands and thousands of tourists are visiting Nicco Park (Jheel Meel) which is spreaded over 42 hectares.

About the climatic conditions the temperature during summer is 40′ Celsius and the winter temperature is around 19′ Celsius.
